455 Stroker....
I have yet to to buy a crank and connecting rods mainly because I'm still not sure if I want to stroke this thing or not. I may go with a set of big valve c heads that I presently have because I really do like the look of the original engine.
My hp goals are 450-475hp on pump gas and good vacuum for my brakes, should I stroke this thing? How much more $ roughly will it take to do it as far as machining?

I am no pro, but if you want 450+hp from a 455 you will need +$,$$$.00. If you want a fun driver, go stock w/some fun. Use a Edelbrock performer intake/650-750 cfm with w/z exhaust 2.5 H, or X pipes.

If you're looking for 450-475hp go with aftermarket heads, a mild cam and an 800 or bigger carb. In fact you could probably make 450 with the cam you have and the good heads.
The more builds I do the more I believe using stock heads is a waste of time and money, especially on a big block.

I was thinking of reusing that cam, I kind of like the look of the factory heads but if I go with the edelbrock heads I'm somewhat limited when it comes to a fuel pump. I was thinking of using a RobbMc fuel pump.
I know what my goals are now all I need is to come up with a solid plan and buy my parts accordingly.
