Wow 85mph shift into top gear? Wonder what transmission and rear end is in it.

TurboHydramatic 400 with a switch pitch converter if it's original. Rear axle ratio, dunno??? but the 85 MPH or even a little faster e.g., 90 2-3 shift is normal. Those cars were beasts on the highway.

I have a 66 Starfire with switch pitch TH400 my 2-3 shift if I recall correctly (with 3.23 rear) is around 70MPH at close to 5000RPM.

That’s crazy…I’m just watching the 60 to 100mph which looks like about 6.5 seconds?

or am I seeing things?
