Radiator shroud which is correct for '68 442

Hi Guys-
I have two shrouds in storage....I'm pretty sure they are both '68 yet I'm guessing that the smooth one is for the 442. Appreciate any guidance.

Can you find part numbers cast into the plastic? All the 1968's I've seen are smooth. The 69-72 have ribs, but I thought they had more ribs than the one in your picture. Numbers would nail it down. John

Part numbers....why didn't I think of that...

Smooth shroud is 398248 has a 68 cast above the part number

One with lines/supports 402995 has both a 69 and 70 cast above the part number

I"m pretty sure the smooth shroud came with the car (was in the trunk with other parts that seemed orig to the car)

Thanks

398248 is the part number in the 68 assembly manual

BTW there is a second shroud but it's for a 31-3500 series car. I don't remember what that was (wagon?, 6 cyl?)

Yes, and the 402995 is correct for 69 through I believe 72 Cutlass/442. Over the years I've had several requests for these. If you don't have a use for the ribbed one I'm sure you can easily sell it. John
