Jet's 442 (The Brick)

hey everyone, I'm new here on the boards, and figured I'd share my 442 with you. So, here's what we're looking at.

1991 Calais 442
W41 Cams
W41 chip
1994 3.94 FDR 5-speed
Eagle H-beam forged rods
Short ram intake
AirCon delete
Power steering delete
Punched catalyc
Flowmaster 40-series mufler
Short shifter from Sunbird GT Turbo
Clarion 208 watt deck, Infinity 6x9's

Short Shifter Swap

With a Racin17 chip, previous to the W41.

[Rusty Trunk Delete

Spun a rod on Nov. 7th 2010.. Rebuilt with Eagle H-beams, was still rockin' a Fidanza flywheel at this point..

Third Tail conversion, Ghost Letters.

Now:

"4CS" is a local car club, acronym meaning "4 Cylinder Soldiers". I'm welcomed with fairly open arms, making around 200-crank HP and daring to be different

GTZ's are on it. 215/55 ZR16's.. They're just a touch meaty (and faintly rub), but they look GREAT.

So, these are my plans for my baby:

My full plan is to make a Hurst 442, just because we never got an example, and (so far as I've seen) no one has done it yet. Process as follows.

1) GTZ Wheels. I have two sets, one white, one black but needing redone. Plan on making them gloss black with the outer edge a gold strip.

2) Paint hood center section.

The center will be gloss black, the bodyline painted gold.

3) Hurst 5-speed cueball shifter.

4) Hurst or Hurst Equipped badge for the right trunk edge, opposite of my 442/Oldsmobile.

I have 90% of the correct colours anyway. Why the hell not? burnout.gif

Welcome to the forum, Jetboy. That is a nice car. I have a white '90 Quad442, but it's not on the road.

I like!

For all the disparagement and lack of respect the N-body 442 gets, it is probably closer to the original concept than any of the 70s-80s versions were and is a damn sight quicker. As owner of both a 1974 H/O and a 1969 W34 Toronado (the FWD end of it), I can say that without bias.

A lot! Body work, paint, engine swap... And I'm still not done my '72 Cutlass, so the 442 will be waiting a while still.

Thanks! I took the third tail apart, applied a run-of-the-mill Oldsmobile sticker, shot three quick coats of taillight tint on it, let it dry, and then peeled the letters. Easy as cake and a nice quick touch.

Thank you, and also glad for the appreciation. I love the concept of sticking a real hammer in a boring streetcar. I'm a sleeper guy to the core.

That's a shame to see her sit for any extended period. I love these cars; they are such a blast to drive.

Hey, can we get shots of your interior? I'm trying to match the seats on my Quad 442 rebuild and I think you got the same interior I'm looking for. Thanks
