The 1970 full size cars used a four blade fan that is 19.5" in diameter (P/N 405443). The 1971 A-body cars used a four blade fan that is 19.0" in diameter (P/N 405442). Interestingly, the 1970 A-body cars used the larger 405443 fan, same as the full size cars.
My first car a 67 Cutlass with a 330, came 4 blade no shroud and always ran hot. Was a 42,000 mile babied car prior to me.
I would think something like this below is a better idea.
Of note, my 69 350 came 7 blade clutch and shroud.
Thanks for the advice,....From what I see in the manuel, my stock set up for Non AC or HD cooling package is suppose to be with the 4 blade fan, I have pulley KN and KJ that is correct for a 71 455 no ac and power steering.
So I don't see a problem running a 4 blade fan with a good radiator no ?
If I want the stock 6 blade fan setup, I need 2 pulley (for the good ratio), also a pulley for the power steering, probably a water pump (not sure if it's 5.5" or 6" for AC) a shroud, the correct radiator top plate, so pretty big job $$.
I want the stock setup but if there's really a risk of overheating then I'll probably change my mind..
