Washer system plumbing

I am trying to piece together how the wiper/washer system is plumbed on a 72 Cutlass. I have nothing in place but the pump. Any chance you could shoot me a picture of where the washer nozzles are mounted and where the connect to the washer pump? And where the washer bottle is plumbed to the washer bottle. Also, any specifics on the screws used to mount the bottle? And pics of where the wiper hose clip mounts, and where the wiper hose retainer goes? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Here's your own dedicated thread rather than dredging up one from 2010 that was only slightly related.

I found a box of the small loop that pushes in the hood to hold the hose, just may be the same for Old’s. Old ones are Brittle or broken.

Edit:. I just ran a search here on CO and it seems that option was heavy duty cooling for cars with A/C. This would explain why the washer fluid tank is on the driver side of my '72 U code Supreme...it's an A/C car. (Coolant overflow tank is on the pass side).

I don't have the 1972 GM Oldsmobile Specifications Manual. However, reviewing the 1971 GM Oldsmobile Specifications Manual demonstrates the Y72 option is applicable to various models - each model having a different configuration. With that said, the Y72 option refers to the optional Engine-Cooling Equipment, e.g. Heavy-Duty - Includes heavy-duty radiator and water pump, Thermo-Cool engine fan, and 55-ampere Delcotron, plus transmission oil cooler. It is referred to as SPECIAL USE EQUIPMENT (for usage, refer to Product Selling Literature). I don't have any Product Selling Literature and I do not know what the prefix 35 refers to in the number 35Y72.

BTW, it's always a little difficult reading the FAM, since some material is located in a different section or on a different page w/ other components/equipment. This (below) diagram is specific for the L6 & 350. The previous diagram of the washer bottle was for the 455. I just happened to notice this.

The Y72 Option was available either with the C60 A/C option or without the C60 A/C option. However, the Y72 option required the Vari-Ratio N47 Power Steering option. You could obtain a vehicle without A/C and still order the Y72 option. However, if you ordered a vehicle with AC (C60), the N47 option was required.
