Header install on a 67 442

Anybody got a set of headers on a 67 , did you have to move the brake distribution valve? I got a vintage set of Doug Thorley headers and did a test install, it's going to be a tight fit. I might be able to bend the lines some but thats going to be a lot of heat next to the valve. Guess I could wrap the header. Can't remember what the instructions said, I had them on a 66 but no valve on that year. It's going to be a PTA if I have to move it. I just replaced the lines. Thanks. I put the right side on and didn't even have to jack the car up.

Cool

Have Hookers on my 67 conv. Yes brake junction block needs to be moved from side to top of frame rail. I tried without moving it and almost had a rub thru and yes there will be extra heat on the fluid too... PS My 442 is a Supreme (as all 67's were) and a conv and the headers fit!

Thanks for the reply Joe,
The lines will work fine, the line to the rear is long enough. I thought at first the line wouldn't reach.

Mounted it on the top. Just have to custom bend the lines.

Looks good, also easier with an automatic car. More room to work without the Z bar and stuff. Dont be surprised if you have to raise the car pretty high so you can angle that header up vertically and into place from underneath. You may need to jack the engine up as well for the drivers side install.

Yeah I had to raise it when I did the "test" fit. The other side went on without raising the car. When I did the suspension, I added a 1" spacer under the coil spring which is why I didn't have to raise it probably. The front sits about 2 inches higher, I may have to raise the rear a little more. It's up 3 inches. I like the higher stance. I was hoping I did the brake valve correctly, thanks for confirming.
