Front windshield

How difficult is it to find a 1969 442 front windshield? The one I have is not cracked but does have a scratch from the wipers on the passenger side. I did try to compound it out but is still visible. Thanks, Tom.

The Cutlass uses the same windshield as a Chevelle. They are available everywhere. Unless you care about correctly date-coded glass, this is a non-problem. Just be aware that many of the new windshields are thinner than OEM and need to be installed with a thicker bead of urethane. Otherwise, the stainless doesn't fit right.

I bought a Pilkington OEM reproduction and it worked out great. Pretty cheap with shipping thru Summit Racing. The repros are now 3/16 thick. The originals were 1/4. Use 3/8 butyl tape for the new windshields and 5/16 for the originals. —Billy
