1968 422 Hood question

Newb here. Awesome site and information! I’m hoping one of you may be able to help answer this question. I have a true 68 442 convertible with all matching vin. Known history of ownership. Both previous owners state car is as original from Dealership/factory.

Question : The hood does NOT have the vents/louvers. It is a solid hood. Does anyone have any knowledge of this being an original option to have hood without louvers? (Car also has original factory front bench seat to save $68)

thank you!

There are smarter people here but I thought all 442's in '68 had the deluxe trim inside and out.

I'm sure every 4-4-2 got the hood with the vents/louvers from the assembly plant. The hood must have been replaced somewhere along the line.

Thanks ! I tried the search engine In this forum to find this answer and have looked all over the build and spec sheets. As I suspected, you confirmed my research.

after you replied I got “similar threads” recommendations and saw where this question has already been answered to someone else asking. No further answers needed.

have a great weekend!
