70 W-30 Radiator application?

I am not fully understanding the assembly manual on the radiator application. Looking for the correct radiator code for a 70 442 W-30 with A/C, heavy duty cooling, and TH400 transmission. I have three 4 core radiators and not sure what one came off the car (if any). I am worried i sold the original radiator to this car.

How do i read the date on a radiator?

The radiator you need is 3017107 code "EC". The date code is on passenger side tank with a single letter.

there are also codes on each tank, IF and CI would be the correct ones - the stamps are about 1.5 inches tall. The EC tag is a separate tag attached to the radiator on the passenger side as Joe pointed out.

The mouth of the radiator opening inlet should also be parallel to the ground, '71 and later are around a 30% angle.

Here's a 4 row from a '70 442....note the tank codes and the "horizontally" oriented filler neck (vs. the '71+ which are more like a 45 degree angle)...

With AC and HD cooling that car would have come with the 4 row radiator as the guys already mentioned.

A little off subject but it has been mentioned in the last two posts. I do not have rock solid evidence but I think early 71 4 core radiators may have had a straight fill neck as the 70's did. There was a radiator change announced in mid Jan. 71. If anyone has pictures of a 71 EB or EF 4 core I would like to have a copy. I am trying to document some of the radiator codes. I think the EB has a straight fill neck and the passenger side tank code is CP. I have no information on the EF radiator.

Sorry for the high jack Eric, email sent.

Does the single letter date code mean the month? Like F would be June?

Yes the single letter is the month. A - M with the letter I being skipped. A=Jan. B=Feb.... I have seen a number by the letter also. I would guess that the number represents the week of the month.

AS stated above: The date system was from A thru M excluding the letter "I". This site discuss radiators for Camaros; however, would be applicable to Oldsmobile(s) since they both were made by Harrisson for GM.
