Carter Carb Application

Question for any carb expert.

I have a 4BBL carb that has the following numbers on the bottom 587 9635SA. From wht I can tell it's probably a Carter and likely a 625CFM EGR as I believe the Carter Carbs were 9XXX with the last three being the CFM and if it was EGR they added 10. First question am I right?

Second question, if that's true what is the 587 and the SA?

Final question, how will it match up on the engine I'm building (425 bored .030 over, reproduction 10.25 comp pistons/moly rings (file gapped), balanced crank, C heads with Comp-Behive springs (new for Olds), Comp 270H cam (mild to strong street grind), Comp lifters and rockers, Cloyes Hex "double roller" timing, Edlebrook Performer intake and (probably) Hooker headers and eventually an HEI plug and play. The engine will be in a "65" F85 that current has a TH350 (rebuilt but no stall) and 3:08 gears that may get changed after I test the performance. Is it too small or OK considering I just want a good to crazy street ride not a week end racer (also, it's free but who's counting $ now)?
