I have a special request, once you take possession of the vehicle and once the dust settles, would you be so kind and take detailed photos of the San Diego Trevellyan Oldsmobile license plate frame, I have been seeking that exact one, but need photos to have someone make a close copy as my '68 Hurst Olds came from that dealership. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.

can we get some detail pics of your original spare wheel & tire
wheel dates by the valve stem
tire sidewall specs - is it a "FIRESTONE SUP-R-BELT"?

Just interesting to see the relationship between Fisher body and the line and the number of cars going down the line.
Thanks for the reply my friend.

If you do not mind telling, how much did the 442 cost? Good to know when gauging prices for other cars for sale. If you rather not, it is understandable.

I liked doing the research on my car when I got it. I had some of the original paperwork & a bunch of receipts. I'm the 5th owner but the 4th only had it for a year. Texas until 2007 & then NY

Thought it was a keeper. Sure you want to sell it, as it would be hard to replace such a uniquely optioned 442?

Does anyone know if all the Special Order Paint colors had the double dash -- for the paint code, or only certain ones? Only asking since John's car has the actual paint code, 38, for the Aegean Aqua color.

It would be terrible to see this completely stock and original 442 ending up in the hands of someone who wants to 'improve' it, not unlike what Chip Foose did to the '68 Mustang, with ridiculous looking oversize rims, custom paint stripes, custom scoops, etc....but would be nice to see it either just cleaned up so others can see an original car or fully restored to factory specs.

From the photos, the roof looked in good condition. Probably due to the vinyl roof coming off at some point, but better then staying on damp and rotting the roof. With the condition and options, thought it would go fast.

Hey guys, Never said it was a keeper but i really didn't want to sell it but i figured if i can turn i nice profit and let somebody restore it the correct way that would be a good thing. As it turn's out a very finatical olds restorer bought the car and he says he is going to restore it the correct way.
He is in the olds club of America for over 35 year and has over 11 cars himself. But i think once he see's the condition he might just leave it alone. he is coming to get it tomorrow i think he lives in Ohio he said 1500 miles away coming with trailer. if he has any complainst i will bekeep the car because you guys are right never gonna find one like these too often. When i was a kid i missed out on a 70 ram air car 4 speed for like $750 i went back to get it and the car was gone.

I actually did list it here in the forsale section before i listed it anywhere else and a monitor deleted it.
I wrote would anybody be interested if i was to sell.
Sry it was not listed long and i got no response why from the monitor i asked why it was deleted. maybe it was because i was asking if you guys were interested and not truly forsale yet??? HMMMM
so please don't assume i forgot about you guys.
by the way i have a chance to buy a 70 SX455 convert family selling the car. in the 20's? too much?

Great that it sold and you made a nice profit. If something doesn't work out with the buyer, I would definitely be interested. Very cool car though.

Does the '70 Cutlass Supreme SX convertible have the W-32 option?

I always thought that would be a unique combination - a 442 convertible buyer could by-pass the insurance surcharge by ordering a Cutlass Supreme SX convertible with the W-32 option, add the FE-2 sport suspension for approximately $20, and the buyer would essentially have a 442 convertible without the higher insurance rates. Only things missing would be the emblems, stripes, and if wanted, a W-25 hood and manual transmission.

Hopefully the buyer of the 442 plans on keeping it 'as is', since it still has the original paint and stripes. Only thing really needed is new vinyl top. Is the buyer leaving the standard hood? Even though the W-25 hood is nice, it would be a shame if the originality is broken up.
