1970 442 Bucket Seat Disassembly

We just completely disassembled our seats to recover/refoam them - during the process we decided it might be a good idea to have the main chunks stripped and painted. We also documented the disassembly process as we went (to make sure they went back together correctly!)

Here it is: http://imgur.com/a/1FzWF

Comments/Questions welcome!

Found two more body broadcast cards in the process! One in the drivers seat and one underneath the backseat

Was the drivers seat broadcast card behind the seat back? I also found one under a console once. Thanks for documenting the process. I appreciate the link but if you had time to post the pictures here that would help others even if something happens to your photos.

nice find, notice you still have the open-face alternator, hold onto that. Looks like a full W27 rear end is that correct or is it just the cover?

You can see it here at a distance in this image - http://imgur.com/65hzi

And here's a closeup - http://imgur.com/0J1Up

Once the panel was removed it was tied up into the seat. The back seat was very similar. You can see it here - http://imgur.com/BjKCu

It's a full W27 - the cover was easy to sandblast

It looked like it, was just curious as I have yet to see a broadcast card with the W27 anywhere on it, yours does not either.

Great write up on the seats. I do upholstery work and know how much time/effort it takes to do those, let along document it with pictures.

I didn't take the time to go to your link before I posted last time That's a few too many pictures to post here. But thank you for the pictures and comments on many of them. That will really help others dismantle their seats.

A broadcast card with W30 on it, how cool is that! And you found two in your car! So few of these cars have documentation showing they're real W30's, I'm glad you found them.

It sat for 34 years with no mice - very fortunate because there were definitely mice around. I guess there were better places to call home.
