Are these Q-Jets anything special?
I have 2 Q-Jet carbs in a box that make me think there was a reason for keeping them, but not sure if they are anything special. Can you fellows with the numbers tell me? I was working on '71-'72 A body cars at the time. One has a note that I had bushed the shafts to close up the loose fit, and it is numbered;
7040253 UC
0360
The other is just as removed I suspect, so why keep it? Numbered:
7040258
3366 (very light stamp here)
Thanks for any help, KC
7040253 UC

3366 is not the number that should be on it, maybe its a replacement car come to think of it - as that translates to 336 day of 1976
253 is for a 4-speed 442
36th day of 1970
I'd be interested in the 258
John 2blu442 would be interested in the 253

whats w-33 i have a 7040257 supposed to be correct for 70 442 auto
"W-33 is a 1970 motor option only, optional on all Delta 88's. This was the 390hp 455 option (with dual exhaust), which was also the police package pursuit motor. Speedometer read "Police certified" on the bottom. Suspension and trim upgrades were separate options. Upgraded suspension consisted of heavy duty springs, boxed control arms, posi rear, rear sway bar, and special "OL" code TH-400 transmission". <this is a quote from 442 dot com FAQ>.
7040253 = 1970, manual trans, 442, 455 engine (engine code TU)
7040258 = 1970, auto trans, 442, W30, with OAI, 455 engine. (engine code TT)
7040258 = 1970, auto trans, 442, W30, with OAI, 455 engine. (engine code TT)

On an interesting note the W33 is Police Performance PKG on the big cars with 390 HP 455 dual exhaust and M41 (Three Speed Turbo Hydromatic Trans with Three Speed Torque Converter) and Y72 Heavy Duty Cooling & Alternator Option.
