1966 442 Trim
Lately I have seen some odd trim combinations. I have see a '66 442 rag top with what appears to be all original trim on it. This car looks to have been sitting a long time. This has the chrome slats in the tail lights and the chrome center hood strip like a regular Cutlass, but all the other 442 trim appears to be intact right down to the dash emblem, correct fenders and trunk trim. Now i understand that at some point it may have been hit or damaged in its life but two tail lights and a hood? Are their any recorded cars that had "incorrect" trim from the factory?

Correct 1966 442 tail light lenses were difficult to come by until the repros became available a few years ago, so as noted, it wasn't uncommon to use the more plentiful Cutlass lenses. Similarly, the leading edge of the hood is prone to rust holes, and Cutlass hoods are a lot more common than 442 hoods.

No kidding...
.. but they are a fairly rare sight up here in the northeast. Even if it is just a parts cars which I think that car is good for. That car is probably pretty rusty underneath being from Maine. I am trying to track down my original '66 442 that I sold in 1979. For now I have a very clean '66 Cutlass that will be a tribute to my original car.
