Radio dispute

Hi need your opinions I purchased a wonderbar radio listed as (WONDERBAR RADIO AM/FM 1967 OLDSMOBILE 442,F85,CUTLASS GM DELCO WONDERBAR #7300103 NOT TORONADO ,GTO,CHEVELLE)
I have a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Vista Cruiser. Recived the radio go to install but the tuner/ Volume control shafts are to short to even get a thread started. The seller tells me that he took this radio out of a 1967 442 and that it doesn't fit my Vista Cruiser because its a station wagon. My contention and the reason I purchased this radio is that 1967 Cutlass is a model and that the entire 1967 CUTLASS line has the same dash/radio hole. Am I correct in my thinking? And can anyone help me show this in print? Thanks a bunch for the input.

All 66-67 Cutlii (including 442 and Vista) use the same dash parts. Look in a factory parts book and you'll find that the applications all use the same P/N dash plastic. Your seller is wrong.

Does the AD stipulate 1967? I'm occasionally looking for radios as well, and often see ads proclaiming that their radio fits any 68-69-70-71-71 Cutlass, Chevelle, whatever. Or even 62-72, or other bizarre claims. I think these guys either don't really know, or don't care too much about accuracy. Always know for sure what you're getting on eBay; never rely on the seller's info.

WonderBar was never offered in the Cutlass carline. My guess is he found out it woudn't fit in his own Cutlass-based car and was trying to cut his losses.

I'll have to look back thru my books to make sure, but I don't think AM-FM-WB was introduced until 1968, and then only in B/C/E cars.

That is a bummer that the radio doesn't fit. Perhaps the dash or radio could be modified so that it would fit.

That sucks about your radio. If it's from a 68 b body such as a Delmont 88, and you want to sell it??? Let me know. Maybe we can work out a deal.

According to the 1967 Oldsmobile Dealers Accessory Package Price List, the Signal Seeking radio (aka Wonderbar) was only available in the 88, 98, and Toro for 1967. The seller is flat wrong.
