66 442 Tire size ???

Any thoughts on what size redline radials I should mount on 14 x 6 SS1 wheels?

205 70?

215 70?

or?

Thanks,

Dave

If it was mine I would go with the larger tire. 215/70

Both are on the small side for the car, but are pushing the limits of the rims. Rule of thumb is that the section width should be within an inch of the rim width. The 205s have an 8.07" section width but only a 25.30" diameter. The 215s have an 8.46" section width and a 25.85" diameter. I feel that A-bodies look best with about a 27" diameter tire, which would be a 215/75-14 if you could find one.

therobski,
Your 67 looks great! Did you have to mess with the backspacing at all to fit those 15x10's on the rear?
