1965 Olds 98 with new wheels

I just bolted up some new wheels today. These are made by Vision Wheel and the rim is called 54 Cheyenne series. The fronts are 18x8 with 4.25 backspacing and the rears are 20x9 with 5 1/4 backspacing. Tires are 225/55R18 and 255/40R20.

I purchased the rims from Summit Racing. The tires from Giga-tires.com

I first bolted on 18's all the way around, but the 18's on the rear looked too small. Then I tried 20's all the way around, and they looked too big on the front. I would have gone 19's on the rear but they don't make that size. With the skirted rear wheel openings, the 20's look great back there and I love how the 18's look on the front. The difference in the wheel diameters is hardly noticeable.

These will offer a huge handling improvement over the stock 14x6 rims. And I like the modern look of these wheels.

Here is a good side profile. It sits pretty level. Coil springs are factory original.

My gosh that is a classy car. The wheels are a little much, but I like them. The proportions are a heck of a lot better than the 14" wheels

Thanks for the positive vibes. The ride improved quite a lot. Super smooth at 50 MPH, rides like a new car now. Seems to get more looks now too. Folks drive by slowly and give a thumbs-up. What a wonderful car that I bought for well under $10k and I plan on doing an epic road trip with it next year.

Very nice car. It is hard to pick aftermarket wheels for one of these cars in my opinion. I had to look several times but they have grown on me. Very nice. Enjoy

Looks great! I went with Chevy truck rally wheels on my Ninety Eight as well. I went with the smaller size rim with tall/fat tire to go for a late 60's Sunday-drag-car look.

Just because it's a "luxury car", that doesn't mean you have to go with narrow white walls tires and hubcaps.

Nice! Looks like you could run over speed bumps and not feel a thing.
