RWL tires

For years I ran BFG. Radial TAs. BFG was the last company to make 235 70 14s. Now that I have to 'settle ' for undersized 225s, there is no reason to pay the price BFG wants, plus the quality of the last set i bought was not good. Has anyone had good or bad luck with other RWL tires? I have been seeing a lot of Cooper Cobra tires, what about Mastercraft or Dunlops? I drive my car a lot and do a occasional burnout. I refuse to pay $400 plus for repos.

I have read many positive reviews of the Cooper Cobras here on the forum.

I've had a few sets of Cooper Cobras over the years. They're good tires. My latest set was much better than my latest set of BFGs - both bought around 2019ish time frame.

I went to Coopers and run the RWL inside, I like the look. They are great tires.

Mastercraft is Cooper's entry line, and the Avenger GT is basically a Cobra. I've run both, and they're fine, way better than BFGs.

I don't understand white letters.

White letters are to look sporty🙂. I'm just happy every tire isn't a whitewall like years ago. The great part of the Cooper Cobra is the black wall has the neat Cobra on it. I have some BFG 225/70R14 that are almost aged out. Planning on throughly "testing" the new Edelbrock heads and roller cam next year. I can get Cooper Cobra's for $60 less per tire, kind of a no brainer which way to go.

Plus one for Coober Cabrah's here! I have them on my Chevelle too...great look, the wear evenly, and ride nice.

I really do like the Cooper Cobras. I have them on my 73 442 and my 70 Monte Carlo. I used to only run BFG until a few years ago when the brown letter defect started showing up.

Aaron70Monte your 442 looks great. Love the swivel bucket turned towards us, nice touch.

Cooper Cobras all the way. They cost 20% less than T/As, weight is 4 lbs less per tire, meaning she will be that much quicker and burnout that much more aggressively. While both tire brand models share the same 6 year warranty.

I've had both on my ride. Currently Cobras and have been very happy with them.
