Considering the Torq Wheels. Ideally Im looking for skinnier/taller tires in the front and fatter tires in the rear. What size for the wheels would be ideal? Considering 15x7 in the front and 15x10 in the rear..
My humble opinion, the TT 2 are ubiquitous, and thus are not an interesting wheel. However, TT D look like they should have come stock on a vintage Cutlass.
I actually prefer the TTO (VN309) wheels, which is what I have on my 67 Delta. 15x7 front with 235/70-15 BFGs and 15x8.5 rear with 275/60 BFGs. In this photo the fronts obviously have not been installed yet.

Yes, also a great choice that carries the 60’s style perfectly. The primary difference being a more angular spoke.
You can run 15x10 with 5.5" backspacing and 295/50/15 tire with no issues. You could even go bigger on tire depending on your suspension and exhaust. For front 15x7 with 4" backspacing will fit, 15x8 4.5"BS will also fit.

Pardon my lack of understanding but what does the backspacing really mean/do for the wheels? My reading online indicates that it referes to the depth of the wheel... and in that case, Im not sure if more or less backspacing is better.
To state it simply, I would like 15" Torq wheels with skinnier tires upfront and wider ones in the rear. I was thinking to go with 15x7 in the front and 15x10?? In the rear

The bottom line is that the RWD cars from the 1960s want close to zero OFFSET. That means that the wheel mounting surface is centered relative to the width of the wheel. Backspace is relatively worthless, since it is dependent on TWO variables - the offset and the width of the rim. Unfortunately, it is easy to measure, so that's the number people quote.
They'll work. I personally don't care for the spokes that curve back inward at the outer edge, which is why I got the TTOs, but that's a matter of personal preference. I guess they remind me too much of ingrown hairs.
