Backspace for.......
Hi all,
I bought a set of wheels from Jegs recently and sourced tires from tire rack. The tires came then the next morning I got an email from Jegs saying my wheels have been discontinued 👎🏿. They were 18x8 and 18x9....I forget the bs on them. So I now have (2) 235/45/18 and (2) 275/45/18 laying around without wheels.
So, all that to ask what bs do I need to go 18x9.5 in the rear? I have QA1 coilovers all around so adjustability is there up n down wise. Thanks in advance!

Craig:
I have 18x9" rims with 5.25" backspacing on the back of my 442 convertible. The tires are 285-40R18 with 1.5" of clearance to the frame rail. I have the body off the frame at the moment so no pics on the car. Here's a link to some pics, scroll forward to post#6 for the pics.

However, you need to be sure the inner face of the spoke doesn't hit the outside face of the caliper. I had that issue with the 17's I originally had on my car, the 18's I have not fit much better.

The thickness of the Wilwood rotor is very comparable to the thickness of drums, so nothing to really worry about.

Either one would fit well up front and the 235/45/18 front tires you already have will work with either size rim as well. I'd suggest getting 18x8 in case you want to go to a wider tire in the future. With the correct backspacing an 8" wide rim will fit easily.
I'm running 255/40/18 on 18x9 up front, and it only kisses the sway bar at full lock backing out of the driveway. My car is lowered about 3" as well.
