Wth &%?!!!
Wth &%?!!!
I purchased some wheels and tires last year around this time. I had them mounted on a drove the car a few times before winter hit. I pulled her out for the first drive to beat up the 350 a little before I throw this rebuilt 455 in it. Well as I cruising down the road, I make a left hand turn, and I heard a noise coming from my driver's side wheel well. I could feel from my steering wheel that something was rubbing.
So I took her home, and put the broad in the garage, and turned the wheels all my left. I got out of the car, and noticed my front tire is touches my front fender well, when the wheels are turn to maximum (outward).... I have 18's 245/45/18... I seen guys on here run those numbers. Has anyone else had rubbing issues, and what are some things I can do, i.e raising the car height/suspension mods... Or go down a size to 17 inch.... It looks like 1 inch would let me clear the wheel wells...
Any suggestions
Thanks Gents

The diameter of the wheel is unrelated to the overall diameter of the tire. As an example, your 245/45-18s are about half an inch narrower and half an inch smaller in diameter than the 255/60-15s that I run on my 69 H/O. I run these on the stock SSII wheels with no problems. As noted, your problem is that you have the wrong wheel offset. Sorry, but the fix is buy the right wheels.
