Question about rims and backspacing.

Ok I am venturing into the world of wheels and tires, and need some help. A friend of mine has some older Keystone Klassics he is going to give me a good deal on. They are 15"x 7 with a 3.75" BS. I have read the stock BS for a 1972's rims was 4.5". So would these fit my car without rubbing? Forgive my ignorance with this stuff, never delt with it before.

I have no idea. Since the person you are going to buy them from is your buddy perhaps he will let you "test" them out first.

Yeah I actually have them sitting in my dining room right now, so I was going to pop one on and see. The problem is that is it just the rims, no tires. So my concern is that even if they fit now, once I put a tire on there, it may add just enough to rub.

I've got 14 in. keystones on mine. BFG 215 70 SR14 front, 245 rear I don't remember rim width (7in I think), I bought them 20 years ago.

In any case, 7 in wide rims should not present a problem. With 15's you may want a 60, or 65 aspect ratio to be safe.
