Wheels and tires finally installed

I got the wheels and tires mounted over the weekend. The wheels and tires that came on the car were OK, (235/70R14) but I felt they were more like Corvette or Chevelle Rally wheels than what a muscle car should have.

I ended up with Cragar 610P Vintage series wheels. One piece polished aluminum, so light weight and no rusting. I went with 15x7 front (+6mm offset) and 15x8 rear (0mm offset). I got Cooper Cobra tires, 215/70R15 front and 255/60R15 rear. They come close the the original 27 inch height and I had set up the speedo gearing and everything else based on that diameter. Given the rear suspension height, maybe a 275/60R15 would have filled the wheel well better, but the gearing was already installed, so It is what it is. Overall I'm very happy with the results.

the rims and tires look really nice. Your car does sit up a little in the back. What do you have for springs inthe rear ? maybe cut a coil or get shorter springs ?

Cut 1/2 coil in the back and it will be just right. Wheels look good.

Good choice, I've been trying to decide between Olds Rally wheels and Cragars. The cost is about the same to restore a set of Rally's as buying new Cragars. The Cragars look great on your car, nice wheels and a nice looking convertible too. - Steven

I've got P275-60-15 on 15x8 wheels in the back and P225-70-15 on 15x6 in the front. Those springs will settle a bit also. In the front I put a heavy duty spring to raise mine a bit.

Wheels look good. Would look much better if you drop the back some.

Only if he puts more tire in the back. Too much gap like it is.

KEEP the white letters out, but clean the mounting paste of them. Lower the back a bit and you´re there.

I kind of swagged the springs. I'm hoping they settle some, they are only a few weeks old. If not, I'll try a shorter set, may variable rate HD springs. They are not that expensive and easy to change, so I figured the Vista Cruiser springs were a good starting point. These springs are tapered on both ends, so I can't cut a coil. :-(

Thanks for the comments and feedback.
