I have a set of Goodyear Eagle GT's sitting under my 70 Cutlass SX that are 11 years old . I'm concerned with driving at highway speeds with the tires being that old.
I've ordered another (different brand) set but thought these tires might be worth something to someone so instead leaving at the tire shop for landfill disposal I thought I would see if they have any value.

Any thoughts on this subject?

Post the set cheap on CL or such and someone would prolly pay 25 for the set or whatever.
I sold an ancient set of General xp2000's at a g-sale for 10 a set. A guy just wanted them for a 4-wheeled construction trailer. I bet that nasty trailer would have fallen apart before the tires failed.

I had seen a set on eBay for $450, the seller stated "Very Rare" tires and thought maybe I shouldn't leave the tires at the tire place so I posted hear to get some feedback.

What size are they? Do they have any visible issues? Ebay them, you might be surprised.

245/60/14.
Tire look brand new with 5-7mm tread depth and no visible blemishes.

 

I saw those too, and thought who cares how rare they are - the real question is how dangerous they are but maybe there are folks who rather have old nice tires on a trailer-ed car rather than BFGs. wouldn'[t hurt to put them on ebay or craigs list and see what you get.

Last night at a cruise-in one olds guy was offering 4 14x7 bolt-ons with BFGs for 1500 to someone. I tired to tell him you can find those rims for ten bucks each at a swap meet and get the tires for 99 each brand new.
