Ready to buy tires for my 67 442. I. thinking of running 255/60 x 15 all around. Concerned about turning clearance. Thanks

From my personal experience, depending on the condition of your front springs, putting that size tire on the front may rub at the rear of the wheel well when you hit a dip.

X2. I've run that tire size on all four corners of my 69 H/O, on the factory rims, and it does rub slightly if I hit a bump at full lock (as in, hitting the dip at the end of a driveway). The 64-67 cars have slightly smaller wheelwells than the later cars, so the problem is likely to be worse.

I'm running 235/60 x 15 on the front of my '67, and they are too small. I'll be trying 245s next time or maybe a 70 series that's taller.

What size are you running on the rear. looks like they fill the wheel well.

I'm running 275/60 x 15 in the back, and they fit great. In my '67, I could probably go even larger on the back, there's plenty of room in the rear. My 275s are 28" tall, and they never scrub.

I believe Eric is running a taller tire in the front, that might be an option (vs. wider). The 235s don't fill the wheel well in my car, but if they were a 70 ratio (vs. the 60), it would look nicer. I believe Eric is running a taller tire. The 235/60s are about 26" tall. 235/70s are 28" tall, 225/70s are 27" tall (approximately).

I run a 225-70-15 in the front but mine is lifted. They rubbed with a stock, original, maybe worn springs.

What sizes did you end up getting? I've got a 66' convertible that I'm trying to figure out the best size to get. Would like to improve the stance of the car and fill out the wells a bit.

On the rear I used 15x8"wheels with 255/60 tires and on the front I used 15x7"wheels with 235/60 tires.

Beautiful car man, great job! Where did you end up buying your wheels from? Thats my next big expense, tires and wheels. I do want the biggest tire i can safely stuff in the rear.

Would love to see some pics if you've got them. I was thinking about 255/60/15 all the way around like you or 245/60/15 in the fronts. Would like to see how your combo looks.
