Sleeper drag tires, Futura ?

I've been Googling best "non drag radial" tires for drag racing.
Seems the Pep Boys tires Futura GLS has a decent following.
Curious if anyone has experience with these tires.

I can't answer the question but in know it can be done. It never really took off but we had a street radial class here. The guys were running 6.70's it was insane for a plain radial.

And the bias ply tires the stock appearing drag cars use. Nines on skinny tires is pretty impressive!
I'm sure drag radials will handle all my car could dish out.
I just love the "sleeper" look.

I love FAST racing. I had a guy from Detroit at my house last week picking up a Coronet I had for sale. He says he started the class. He runs a black 9sec Road Runner.

The thing about those FAST cars with bias ply's is the suspension is set up race only. So those tires would not hook worth beans in a "normal" street car(?). Thats my guess. I love the look of redlines! I'd sure consider them if I am wrong about above.

If you are making any kind of real power they are only going to work on a well prepped track. The Road Runner guy said on the street he can nail it a 60-70 mph and still blow the tires off the car.

Firestone Indy 500's are pretty darn sticky for a regular street radial.
