Rim question for my 79 cutlass

I just purchased a 79 cutlass but has 2000 Camaro brake calipers on the front
the tires are 225 55 16 but they rub on the brake line holder
I’ll probably go with a 195 55 16 tire

my question is did they make oem rims for the g body in 16 inch ?
all my research shows 14-15 inch

eventually I would like a oem rim but it has to be 16 inch

Your research is correct. The 16” wheels currently on the car may not have the correct backspacing.

As far as I know the only G-Body that came with 16 inch rims was the GNX.

If I recall correctly late 1980s Pontiac GTA rims will fit, but only the fronts. So you will need 4 fronts on a G-Body Cutlass.

P.S. you will need further verification for sure as you own a A/G.
