Removing Center Insignia

I'm trying to replace the center insignia on my SSII but can't seem to remove the old one. I've tried heat from top to bottom and a sharp object but I cannot seem to even get under the edge. Anyone have any tips?

I bought repop emblems from BAP. They are metal backed stickers without the laminate. I stuck them on top of the old emblems. They look pretty good like that.

They are powdercoated silver sparkle with high gloss clear. I know they are too light to be correct for a 70 but they match my color scheme. My trim rings are no correct either but they look nice.

Ditto, I would add that I used laquer thinner to remove grease, wax and etc.
Then used 3M plastic trim adhesive. The have been on with no issues since 1997.
