They're 5", same as fullsize rear drive GM's thru the 60's and 70's and full size GM pickups.

A couple of exceptions to the above info, 49-70 full size Chevrolet are 4 3/4".

Most 77 thru 80s B body rwd GMs such as Chev Impala/Caprice, Pontiac Bonneville/Catalina, Olds 88, and Buick LeSabre will be 4 3/4". 5" was an extra cost option starting in 77 on these cars. All full size rwd wagons will also be equipped with 5" bolt pattern.

They are a 5 on 5 bolt pattern which Cadillac, Buick and Pontiac shared of this vintage. Also Packard '53-'55 ( no joking)

Probably not. If you still have drums all the way around, the drum won't fit inside a 14" rim.

Golds56,

If you are trying to lower your 56 some try 215/60/15 series tires ,I have a set that I use when I take the car on long trips. They do drop the car enough that some speed bumps can be a problem. It gives my car just little bit of the 50's custom look and I can put it back quick with no hassle, plus it rides much better than those bias ply tires that I show it with....Tedd

Just a after thought 235/60/15 won't fit under the fronts but will just clear the backs on my 55.Your mileage may vary depending on wheel offset....Tedd

Now...does anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced set of 1954-1955 Spinner Caps? Fusik is a bit overboard with their prices.
Paul.
You can watch ebay but a decent set of Fiesta spinners will cost you about $400 for a set of 4. Not cheap.

Thanks guys ,I was told i could fit 245/60/15 on the rear and 225/60/15 on the front,i really want some chrome rims too.out of the 10 hubcaps i have four are nice two of one kind and two nice dog dishes.I will find something that isnt to ghetto like american racing or cragar ss.For now i may just pick up a couple that will match what i have ,you know 60mph caps or something.Or i could just put two on one side and the dogs on the other ,think anyone would notice?LOL Glen

Be sure and try those 245/60/15 on before you buy them, they would not fit on my 55 without rubbing. That is with 8 inch chrome reversed wheels so the offset may be the difference.....Tedd

I find that hard to believe. Didn't the '59 and later 88 & 98 series have 14" wheels? It doesn't seem likely the brakes got smaller, since the cars were getting heavier.

copper128, I believe your correct. I think the 14 inch won't fit on 15 inch brakes thing comes from the disk brake cars not us drumers..... Tedd

Harry:

You should take pictures of the wheels and post them in the Classified Section.
