Oldsmobile & Chevrolet Transmisson

Are they the same?

I didnt think they were but I thought I'd just double check to make sure. I Couldn't find any information anywhere on a 86 Oldsmobile transmission and weather or not it would work alongside a Chev 350 or similar chev engine.

Thanks guys!

GM used two different bolt patterns on the RWD V8 engines, the Chevy bolt pattern and the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) bolt pattern. Most GM automatics are either one or the other. The 200-4R trans used in the 1980s has a "dual pattern" bellhousing and will bolt to either. Some late 70s-early 80s TH350s also came with the dual bolt pattern. No 700R4, 4L60, or 4L80 transmissions were ever made with the BOP pattern.
