The recent thread on wheel bolt pattern once again demonstrates how incorrect much of the information on the internet really is. Type wheel bolt pattern into Google. Here are the snapshots for the first few sites that come up.
Well, this one is doubly wrong. The 1961-63 Cutlii used a FOUR bolt pattern on a 4.5" circle. And the RWD Cutlii retained the 5 x 4.75" bolt pattern through the end of production in the 1988 model year, not 1981 (apparently this site thinks RWD Cutlass production stopped when the FWD Cutlass Ciera came out in 1982). The Omega changed to a metric pattern when it went FWD in the 1980 model year.
This site is close, but still no cigar. It correctly shows the 1964-87 mid size RWD cars as having 5 x 120.65 (4.75"), but overlooks the 1988 RWD cars. It also lumps all 1977-85 RWD full size cars in the 4.75" pattern except the 403 cars, but the Ninety Eights and Custom Cruisers used the 5 x 5" pattern (127mm) no matter which engine was selected - and the wagons used it through the end of production).
It went downhill from there. Most sites I looked at either didn't list Oldsmobile as an option in their drop down menu or else their listings didn't cover anything older than 1988.
And you all know better than to get me started about responses to technical questions on FB.
Those that THINK they know everything .
Annoy those that DO .
Joe is one of a very few people on the interwebs who can make that statement with a straight face. When it comes to Oldsmobiles, at least. Don't know how he is on macrame.
I gave up trying to find any useful info on a '77 Vista Cruiser outside of this forum. What little I could find was wrong. For some things I can "identify" as being a Cutlass Supreme. I have learned alot about GMC motorhomes though....
