245/60/15 front & 275/60/15 rear usually works well

more info

Need more info...how do you use your car & what are is the driveline package...engine?...trans?...Rear gear ratio?

I sure would not pick a 275 60 15 tire out back if I had a 350 2bbl with a T350 & a 2.56 open diff.....see my point?

actually, I don't see your point .....

Most probable original tire was G78-14 = ~ 27.1" diameter
275/60/15 = ~ 28.0" diameter

Standard engine in a Cutlas Supreme was a 350 4bbl & 2.73s were the lowest numerical gear in '72 (& yes I understand that many things can be changed in 40 years)

I have 245-60-15 - 15-7 Rims on my 68. No issues with rubbing, car runs fine on them. I have a limited slip 2.78 rear so no fun with burnouts...
