Hi Josh
Back in the 1980's I ran a set of 295/50/15's on 15X10 wheels on the rear of my 1971 Cutlass Supreme. The wheelwells looked plenty large enough, and going straight down the road was no problem. But what was a problem was body roll. A hard corner would cause the inside of the tire to rub and more noticable was going into a parking lot in town. Where the sidewalk is sloped as a ramp to get into a business parking lot. It would always rub when I drove across one of these. So I'd encourage you to keep the 275's and not go wider. If you really want to go wider then consider the backspacing of the wheel, mine were made with the center at the center of the outer rim. John

Personally, I think a 25" tire looks lost in the A-body wheelwells. I'd use a 27" diameter tire. The BFG 295/50-15s fit nicely if you get the correct backspacing on the wheels. Much wider than that will require careful wheel selection and possibly rolling the fender lip.

Check this out. Should answer any questions on backspacing (among others)
