Looking for Opinions on 1.5" WW Tires

I was looking to upgrade to 235/75-15 1.5" WW tires on my 1970 98LS. I currently have a 9 year old set of 235/75-15 3/4" WW Hankooks but I like the wider look better. I have, however, seen reviews of some saying they turn brown/yellow. I was looking at Vogue classic white $218 or Coker American Classic $268. I've also seen Vitour Galaxy and Suretrac but don't know much about them except they're half the price. Anybody have experience with these brands and was it good/bad or worth the much higher cost?

I've heard mixed reviews on the Coker white walls and I've never seen anything about the Suetracs. I'd probably go with Diamond Backs.

FWIW, I had Ironman RB-12s on my 96 98 for about 2.5 years before I had to scrap it. The white walls are only about .75" wide though. I've heard that the Ironmans turn yellow too now, but I never had trouble with mine.

I've never had any issues with the 3/4" Hankooks WWs, I just saw some 69-79 98s with the 1.5" ones and thought they looked great. It originally had triple pinstripe WWs, but I don't like the way they look. Too weird, impossible to find and outrageously expensive when you do. It still had a spare one when I got her but it was a used one with damage. Unfortunately one of the Hankooks has browned also after 9 years.

As Jesse recommended, take a look at Diamond Backs. I have a set on of Gold Strip ones on my 75 Hurst Olds and really like them.

Do they have white walls less than 3"? All the ones I see on the website are wide white walls or muscle car tires.

If the question is about brand I don't know. If the question is about whitewall width I'd go with 3/4" at most not 1 1/2".

Here's the link to Diamond Back. They have some 1-1.5" white walls that look pretty good. Anything you need for your classic.

FWIW, I agree that the 3" white walls look good on a 50s car but aren't quite right for a later luxury car that needs white walls.
