65 442 Tire Opinion

Trying to decide on the following tires, any thoughts would be appreciated. Currently have 215/70/14's all around. The DB tires are basically the same look as my current tire, except redline instead of white letter. The Firestone is more of an original look, and while the specs show it to be about the same width, not sure if it will look thinner. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Joe,

Not really, I found these firestones and was looking for opinions (photos) on them if someone had them.

Hi,

Just a FYI as someone mentioned 245 60r14's will fit but may damage your wheel well molding as I did it on my 65 when it had old front springs and under a hard stop and turning condition still might contact the fender.

Regards,
Jim

Just joined, I've got a 66 cutlass and was thinking of running 225 60r 14's front and 245 50 or 60's rear on 14 inch rally wheels. Is that doable or am I going to run into trouble. It's been in storage the last 28 years and I'm getting it back on the road, so I'm a bit rusty on everything. Put new 442 springs in front if that means anything.

Hi,

I believe 66/67's have a little more room than a 64/65's, not real sure maybe some 66 owners could chime in, only start a more specific topic.

I am considering going to 15's as more size selection.

Regards,
Jim
