77 Vista Cruiser Fuel Lines

Hi All-

My 77 Vista Cruiser needs the fuel lines replaced. The main line from the tank to the fuel pump is made of two pieces of 3/8" tubing, spliced with a short length of 3/8" hose, running on the RH side of the frame.

One of the makers of pre-formed brake and fuel lines has two piece replacement fuel lines for 69-70 VCs and also for the 72 Pace Car Wagon.Recognizing that there were differences in the wheelbase dimensions of cars from those years and 1977 VC, would these lines fit even with modification?

Since the wheelbase was longer in the older cars, the tubing could be trimmed, and reformed. Just a guess.

Any comments appreciated.

Many thanks.

The 73-77 cars use the 116" same wheelbase as the 68-72 flattop wagons, however I seriously doubt any pre-bent lines for the early cars would be close enough that you could make them work. Your choices are to either bend your own or provide your old ones to one of the tubing vendors as a pattern. Some of these vendors will make the first set for free, just so they have the pattern for future use.

77 Vista Cruiser fuel lines

Thanks Joe for the information.

Unfortunately, the main fuel line has rusted through in several places, so their use as a pattern for one of the preformed suppliers is impossible.

Regards,

JB
