That's a pretty extreme interpretation for 'ghost flames' IMO. I hope you realize I was only kidding about doing that to your wagon. None of the pics you posted were ghost flames btw.

I know. Besides, I don't need to paint flames on the car. With its yellow color, when I'm speeding down the highway doing 75 mph, my car IS a flame going by.

Got the car back from the body shop this morning. Reused the original taillight trim. Looking great, I think.

How's the 'blend' that you mentioned? Need a big picture of the side of the car to see if they matched the paint right....could be just me or the lighting but the color on the quarter looks different than the clamshell. Too much green/blue in the mix.

More tellingly, here's a photo of the rear door/rear fender area. The door was not repainted while to the right of the door above the fender skirt was. If you can see a difference, you're a better man than me.
One thing to keep in mind on the paint is that the car was repainted in 2005, so the job is now 9 years old and has most certainly faded if only slightly. Any new paint is going to necessarily be slightly brighter, and that's the point of "blending" the old into the new. In this case, because of the clearcoat, they didn't do any blending, but rather put new paint right up to any edge. Thus, at transition points, such as between the rear of the door and the fender or between the fender skirt and the fender, there will be a sudden transition from old to new, and it's possible a discerning eye could see a difference. I don't think paint shops purposely "fade" paint to make it look as old as the paint on the car (but I don't know this).
If there IS a difference in the color between the new and the old, it so slight and so inconsequential as to be of no moment to me. I'm very happy with the work.

Puff, puff, puff. W'all it shore does looky difrent ta me marshall. Coulda been the way the metal was twisted?? Anyway, it still looks great. BTW, that car would look even better with wire wheel discs. Thought you had a set of them for it.
I decided for peace of mind to put the older, original wheelcovers on and enjoy the silence!

??? Huh??? Where'd that come from? I've never said that I don't like Dan's CC. In fact 73 is one of my favorite year CCs. I owned one myself and loved everything about it except the fuel mileage.
Ahhh, I know exactly what you're talking about. My 1983 Regency Brougham (same wheel covers as you have BTW) also made that annoying noise. It wasn't the spokes. It's where the clips on the inside of the wheel disc grab the wheel. I put some white lithium grease on those pressure points and the noise went away. Give it a try and see if it works. BTW the wheel discs on my 73 CC were different than yours. They also weighed in at around 5 lbs each. I'm sure that a PO likely ditched the originals for the 98 wheel discs as seen on this beauty.

I meant to say put some lithium grease on the contact area between where the clips grab the wheel. If you look at the backside of the wire wheel disc you should be able to spot some contact areas that show either bright or dark smudging. Those are the places to lubricate.
