Yeah, some people have been known to lose their heads in situations like that.

Looks like the guy made it and you know as far as the car, with a little rubbing compound and wax "it will polish out.".

There's another similar corvette/semi crash that's been floating around the net for a while... that driver wasn't so lucky. The 'vette is buried beyond the passenger compartment and the brake lights are still on.

He said it wasn't his fault. He blew the horn and the truck wouldn't move.

He's saying, "Get my other hand free, so I can finish that text."

I saw the story this week. The driver ducked at the last minute. That's the only reason he's alive. It was a story about how truck trailers have inadequate bumpers. It should have been a story about dumbass corvette drivers following too closely.

As far as the inadequate safety features on trailers, the inception of the bars that extend down towards the ground were the result of a similar accident that killed Jayne Mansfield and her husband in 1967. At that time, most will remember there was nothing required below the bottom of the load floor.

Regulations are a slippery slope but some tall vehicles scare me. Jacked up 1-ton trucks with bumpers 3' in the air being driven like Porsches by guy with a phone in particular.

Forget about safety regulations, these guys need glasses among other things. What, they couldn't see the big truck in front of them? Going triple digits and couldn't handle their cars? Both lucky they lived.
