Ouch..... that hurt the wallet
Going backwards this week. Trying to scrape up every penny I can to build my new shop. On the way home from work Friday my 01 Dodge diesel died and wouldn't start up again. I worked on it Sunday and ended up replacing the lift pump for $275.00 Well that got me good fuel pressure to the injector pump but no fuel to the engine. Since the lift pump died the injector pump burned up. I just ordered one at $1125.00 and that was a good deal. It sucks but I really can't complain. I'm still less than $10,000 invested in a truck I have owned 2 years and I could sell it for $8500-9000.00 any time I wanted.

Yeah that hurts alright. Did the same thing on my 3208 cat in the motorhome last year. Had it done in a shop full manual setup. Out the door at 4500 but its paid for and still cheaper to repair than anything I can buy at today's prices

Well I make some money back last night. Someone came and bought my 69 Firebird that I gave up trying to sell and started working on it last week. I can't get a call on the damn thing for a month so I take the motor apart to get it running good and I sell it in pieces.
Now I need to scrape up another 5K and its time to break ground on the new shop.

Richard,
Sounds like back headed in the right direction. How big of a shop are you going to build? Wood stick frame, metal pole building, or steel building. Just wondering if you have done some price comparison. Around here the metal pole buildings are the least cost with stick framing 2nd and metal building the highest cost but have the least upkeep. I don't have the property to build a building but when I retire I will move and build my shop hopefully I live long enough to get it done and enjoy it.

My pop is a Cummins mechanic and tells me he has never had any luck with any A/M lift pump other than OE unless you go to a hotrod pump like a FASS so I followed his advice. One the VP44 I called around and looked all over the net. The best price was about $1000.00 but there was to many mixed revues about he quality of rebuild. I went with the best deal from a company that was Bosch certified.
