1965 F-85 Delux Wagon Trans mount

We have just installed an Olds 350 and Turbo 400 Switch Pitch into a 65 F-85 Wagon. The rear trans cross member doesn't appear to line up with the new trans. It's a factory 330 car with a 2 speed. Do I need a different cross member or a better flashlight

It's a short tail shaft transmission. The engine is held with factory mounts in the stock location.

The bellhousing to rear mount dimension for a TH400 is longer than for the Jetaway that came in your car. Yes, the crossmember needs to move back. On 1967-up cars the frame is drilled in both locations. Since the TH400 was never offered in the 1965 F-85s, your frame is not drilled. You will need to move the crossmember back to the correct location and drill new mounting holes for it in the lower flange of the frame. Also, since the e-brake cables hang off the crossmember, moving it back requires you to change the front and intermediate e-brake cables. Use the ones for a 1967 Cutlass sedan or flattop wagon (NOT a Vista) with TH400.

Understood - Thank you. The frame has 4 holes just like my 69 Cutlass so I figured we we're golden. My concern was that the car had a Chev 305 and Turbo 350 when I bought it. I was worried maybe the cross memebr had been swapped too. It was pretty brutal conversion. That may still be the case but this gives me hope the part I have is correct and will fit.
