I was in an antique shop yesterday and saw a hood emblem in the shape of a jet with swept-back wings. Can you guys post some pics of Olds (or other) hood emblems that were jet-like? This thing is in almost mint condition, and I'd love to find it a good home.

How much is one of those worth in excellent condition?

 

I've seen ones from a bunch of different years go from anywhere in the $40 range to a couple hundred. All depends on condition and how badly someone needs one.

 

I returned to the antique shop over the weekend. The hood ornament is definately a '56. If anyone is in need of one in excellent condition, let me know. e-mail is best, otherwise private message.

The shop also had a 1954 hood ornament, though it's in worse condition.

 

I have an extra 53 hold emblem but it needs to be rechromed. Drop me a note if you need one or other chrome trim. I bought extra parts during the restoration in an effort to start with the best I could find.
