Larger Front Sway Bar for 1955

Who makes a larger sway bar for a 1955 Super 88? I am rebuilding by entire front end and hate to use that small front sway bar, even though I am trying to keep everything original.

The 98 models had a larger sway bar than 88/Super 88 did.
Anything from a 55 or 56 "98" model will work.
See group 7.241 below.

I don't know the exact diameters but it will be larger than the one you have now.
May be something like 7/8 VS 1 inch?

Sellers on E Bay usually don't know Jack Sh*t.
Ask them what model it came out of.

I'd have to look and see if I still have them. But I dismantled a 1955 Olds 98 4 door that had front and rear sway bars. Here's an old thread with pictures. John

By today's standards these are tiny. But I've got one front that's 5/8" and another that's 3/4". Then the rear looks to be slightly larger than half an inch, so maybe 9/16". If your interested send me a PM with your address and I'll give you a purchase price plus shipping estimate from Oregon. John

Is it a consensus that the 88 had the 5/8" and the 98 used a 3/4" front sway bar?

Yes, and the rear sway bars on 98's were larger than 88's too.

Hmmm......That explains why my Holiday 88 rear sway bar was smaller than the bushings Fusick sold......
