front sway bar install problem

i bought a 1.25" sway bar from Aadco for my 65 cutlass. it is supposedly for GM 64-72 A bodies & 70-81 f bodies. when i bolt it to the frame then try to connect the sway bar links, the bar seems about .5" too long on each side. i can connect the sway bar links and tighten the nut, but it puts the links at an angle instead of being straight up and down, like this if you are looking under the car from the front- \ /

is this normal?? i asked the vendor i bought it from and they are willing to accept a return if i don't want it, but the sales rep said the links will be at an angle with the thinker bar, does this seem right?? i tend to think i got the wrong bar. so i have a completely brand new front end but right now it looks like i will have to re-use the factory sway bar. any input on this would be appreciated, thanks!!

here is the actal listing for the bar, and i confirmed with the vendor that the part number i received is the correct bar and that the application for my vehicle is correct as well.

Do you have it jacked up or on ramps? The sway bar should be installed with weight on the front tires. As the suspension travels the links will go to all sorts of angles.

X2, w/o the weight of the car the end links look like they are way off for bolting up.

I would contact the manufacturer. I've called them and they were helpful. The catalog lists the same bar '64-'77

Addco 709 bar?d Did you ever ask Addco about this? Was wondering about their answer. I'm going through this right now. Side by side comparison show addco bar is 1/4 inch or so wider. Will post pics later. I originally wasnt as concerned as my car is up on jacks and ive read before about weight needing to be on suspension when installing. Thx.
