shocks. which ones?
1978 Cutlass. Bone stock. 100% street car.
KYB, Bilsteins or Edelbrocks..
I've had KYBs once and hated them. But they are less than half the cost of everything else.
I've had Bilsteins b4 and loved them.
Never tried the eddies and they are the most expensive.
Just wondering who has experience with which, on these cars.. My previous experience with the KYB & Bilsteins are on 2nd & 3rd gen F-body cars..
Also as a sidenote, I am running stiff IROC front springs, and will be installing stiff A-body rear springs.. The spring rates as per Moog are:
Front - Moog 5662 @ 748 spring rate
Rear - Moog 5413 @ 167 Spring rate

If you used the KYB and hated them, why bother considering? Which KYB's did you have? Asking b/c I have the Gas-a-just mono-tube on several cars and like the way they perform. Ultimately your choice though...

I've got Bilsteins on my B-body, and they took about 1,000 pound off its perceived weight when I put them on, and made the ride smoother.
I had a set of Edelbrocks ("IAS" if I recall their term) on a "new" 4-door Blazer about ten years ago and I hated them. They have some sort of variable valving gimmick that makes them smooth but hard. What it does in practice is to give you a soft, Cadillac ride so long as the road is smooth, then as soon as you go over a bump, you're having your bones crunched like you're in a Yugo. I don't mind a rough ride, but I could never get used to switching instantaneously from soft to hard and back again.
