Manual recommendation?

Anyone have a service manual recommendation? Two different types are available on eBay. Neither are reprints. Anyone have one or the other that they would recommend? You’ve all been a bit help with my 1949 88!
Here are the two on eBay:

The second one seems to be a supplement to the first edition. What's confusing is that they first started to call later publications "supplements" later on. For example, when my dad bought his '56 Chevy new, he got the '55 manual which was about one and a quarter inches thick. At the same time, he got the supplement for the '56 models which was somewhere between 3/8 and a half inch thick, containing updated changes for the second Tri-Five production year.
I'd get both publications, if I were you. One too many is always better than one too less

The second one was sent to dealer service departments before the new cars came out, to familiarize the line mechanics with new products they'd be expected to service. Olds did that for many years as did the other GM Divisions.

If you can afford both, get them. Otherwise get the actual shop book.

Find a Motor's or Chilton's Professional Trades Edition general shop manual too. Those are what general repair garages used and lots of excellent information in them. A 1949 or up to about 1952-53 will cover your car.
