Vintage Oldsmobiles at local car show
Took my 47 Convertible to its first "car show" Sunday the 19th at the town of Kalama Washington about 10 miles north of where I live. Like Tedd, I also enjoy the smaller local shows more than shows in larger cities. About 250 cars present and 4 oldsmobiles including two 1940s and my 1947 plus a 1965 White 98 convertible. The latter maybe not a Vintage but hey, it is an Olds and therefore a rare sight at small car shows. It was interesting to see people look twice at the nameplate on my '47. A number of times one would say to the other "It says its an Oldsmobile." Come to think of it, almost 15 years have lapsed since Olds stopped production. Some photos attached.

Neat to see a string of the Old Girls at a show. Did you by chance win a trinket, if you didn't you should. Just a fabulous car.
Did you put the top down? I think they display much nicer with the top down, just my preference....Tedd

No Trinket to take home and have to dust from time to time. I saw a judge look at the '47. Close but no cigar. Probably a good idea to put the top down but I don't have a Boot to cover it. Seems like every time I think about driving it the weather is either too hot or too wet here in the great Pacific Northwest. As a result I've never had the top down in a year since calling the car "finished." Maybe I picked the wrong climate to build and drive a convertible?

Saw a couple of lovely 1963 Starfires in a small show in Sidney BC the other day. I apologise for not getting some pictures, too many people milling around and the angles were all wrong. But it was a nice set; a coupe and a convertible, both well restored.
