Would anyone have a need or desire for this? I just put it on ebay. I should have asked here 1st. If anyone wants it I will take it off ebay. I don't know how to add a link so the ebay number is 302219999911. I am willing to negotiate price lower than ebay listed price for forum members. It is in very good condition and has all the parts and instructions. I'm not sure if this is in the right headding.

What Eric did was to go to the top of the web browser window, in the address bar, copy the text there ("Command-C" or "Control-C" or pull down "Copy" from the Edit Menu), then go to the window on ClassicOlds where he was typing the message, and paste ("Command-V" or "Control-V" or pull down "Paste" from the Edit Menu) it where he wanted it in the thing that he was writing.

but I prefer to delete everything starting with the question mark most of the time, as it is all just information about where the link came from and how it was found, and neither eBay, nor any of us, needs that information, so I would paste in: You can also use the "Link" facility to post the link within your typed text, like this, by highlighting the text you want to turn into a link, then clicking on the little "globe and linked chain" icon () at the top of the ClassicOlds message window, and pasting the link address in there.

Yeah, I don't know for certain what's encoded in that long string, but it very likely contains information that identifies Eric as the source of the link, and probably identifies the words he used to search, or a code that refers to the searches he did that day, in order to find it.

URLs for other things, such as news articles, usually have similar identifying information after them. I strip it out when I see it.

I right click on the information in the address bar, the info turns blue, and a pull down appears, click on copy and then right click in your post and click on paste in in the pull down. Every page or item on the internet has an address or URL to identify it.
