Water pump difference AC vs non AC
I have a 55' with AC, on the 324, the bearing is different from the non-AC, more robust. As far as the impeller, mine originally had an aftermarket water pump with 8 vanes but the rebuilt OEM i received from Fusick has 6, although on ebay i've seen a mix of both 6 and 8 vane impellers on OEM water pumps for AC cars. I would imagine they beefed up the bearing due to the 6-blade radiator fan and dual belt pulleys, it moves a lot more air than the standard 4 blade, plus the ac cars have a shroud to help direct air into the radiator/condensor.

I was referring to the difference between ac and standard pumps on the 49 to 62 early v8's.
Actually , the Non A.C. Water Pump fits 1949 - 1962….
The A.C. Water Pump fits 1953 - 1962 , as Olds didn’t have Air Conditioning until 1953….
I have both of them *** Brand New *** , but I would have to open
( frail “ rebuilt “ boxes ) to compare them side - by - side…..

Am I understanding correctly that ac pumps will not fit the 49 to 52 engines?
Can I use an ac Pump on my non ac car? Its a non ac 55.
Anybody ever compare the rebuild kits ac vs non ac?
is anybody aware of a part number for an ac pump rebuild kit and also a part number for an non ac waterpump?
