Part number needed...
Hi All, I'm in need of the Delco Remy part number for the original 6 volt ignition coil for a '37 Olds L-37 Eight.
I have everything I need to install an original style ignition, and key in my '37 Olds, except the original coil. It takes a special coil with one terminal on the top (top since the coil goes in with the high voltage wire on the bottom), and one terminal on the bottom as usual next to the high voltage wire. The top wire comes from the key switch through a shielded tube supposedly to reduce radio noise.
I might have found a coil, but the guy needs a part number which I don't have. The car currently has a universal coil on it.
I'd really like to find, two to have a spare, since I drive the car, a lot.
Thanks, Jerry

I just googled the part # 1115626 and it came up on www.nosandrestoredcadillacparts.com
And they have one listed for '46-'48 Cadillac for $180 and comes with attaching clamp and Delco Remy box. Hope this will help. Larry

There's a NORS one on eBay for $75, NFI
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NORS-1935-40...NV~doa&vxp=mtr
Also saw aftermarket 6v ones at Rock Auto, starting around $11.51. Appears to be a pretty generic or widely used coil over many years, and should be easy to replace if you don't need factory/concours level.

Thanks Russ,
Yes the universal, generic coils are easy to come by. It's the bottom (top) terminals that make it a tougher fit.
I've got one coming, but I might pick up one of those from your link for a spare.
Thanks for the assist folks!!
Cheers, Jerry
